A pleasant walk along the shoreline of Lake Nagambie and view the Goulburn River.
GRADE | LENGTH | TYPE: Grade 2: Moderate 8 km out and back walk on concrete, boardwalks, bitumn & gravel paths. (graded according to the AWTGS: Australian Walking Tracks Grading System).
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION:
From the station, it is an 800m/14min walk to our lunch stop at the Nagambie Rowing Cllub (requires sign in). We wil have around an hour here for lunch before heading off on our lake walk. We pass through Buckley Park and then past a new residential estate overlooking the lake with a very small beach. At this point we join the first of two boardwalks which are next to the Lake Nagambie Rowing Course, We will make our way to the Goulburn River for a short break before retracing our steps back to town. View the Water Tower, Black Caviar Statue and have a refreshing snack/drink before catching our coach from the Vine St coach stop, so no need to walk back to the station. Note: In the event of a forecast 35C plus day or Code Red, this walk will be postponed. Note: No shade whilist walking.

MEETING TIME | LOCATION: Southern Cross Station at 0925 at the Shepparton train, Front Carriage, Nth Melb end. Check monitors for platform and be aware of any late platform changes. May join at stations enroute or at Nagambie station at 1119 if driving.

DISTANCE | TIME FROM GPO: 138 km, approximately 1 hour 43 minutes by train going and 2 hours 6 minutes for the return trip. or from 1 hour 40 minutes driving via Hume Fwy M31 to Seymour, then Goulburn Valley Fwy M39 / C392 to Nagambie.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT: Shepparton train departs Southern Cross at 0936 and arrives Nagambie at 1119. Our return is by the 1632 coach from Nagambie to Seymour, arriving at 1700, then change to a train departing at 1715, arriving Southern Cross at 1838. Return V/line fare: Adults $8.00 to $9.00. Concession/Seniors $4.00 to $4.50. (January 1st Fare Increase) Tap your Myki, Mastercard or Visa. Includes travel in suburban zones 1 & 2.
FOOD: Lunch will be at the Nagambie Rowing Club (sign in) about 20 minutes after the train arrival. The meals are fairly large so an entree would be a good option and maybe a desert. We can have an after-walk snack and drinks here before catching our coach, a few minutes walk away. Bring snacks and one to two litres of water for the walk, limited water top-up/refills.
APPAREL | FOOTWEAR: Comfortable walking boots/shoes and dress according to the weather forecast, including shady hat, sunscreen and sunglasses. Nagambie can be several degrees warmer and sunnier than Melbourne. Note: No shade whilist walking.
